Water Club NYC Wedding - Amanda and Ryan

The first time I met Amanda and Ryan was in an empty Central Park (thanks COVID) for their engagement shoot. Almost a year later, almost all restrictions had been lifted, and we met back in New York City for their wedding. This time, we got to celebrate in a packed house… I mean boat… on the East River. It was my first time photographing a wedding without a mask since 2019. It felt amazing to be able to smile at people, and being around Amanda and Ryan, there’s certainly no shortage of smiles.

Spring Wedding - Tarryn and Rich - NJ Wedding Photographer

It seems like eons ago that Tarryn, Rich, and I met up at Monmouth University for their engagement photos. Their wedding was originally scheduled for June 2020, but a certain pandemic got in the way. I won’t name names…

We finally got to celebrate this spring, and the wait was worth it. The sky gave us a beautiful accent to an already stunning venue - The Palace at Somerset - and it was a day full of laughs, smiles, and all things good. I’m kind of sad it’s over. I think maybe this should be a yearly thing, Tarryn and Rich. What do you think?

New York State Elopement - Janae and Lio - NY Wedding Photographer

When Janae and Lio first reached out to me, I was certain that their wedding would be one of the best I’ve ever been a part of. They didn’t want anyone there but them, their location was still undecided and they were open to suggestions, and they were still looking for an officiant (if you don’t already know, I am legally ordained.)

We hit it off immediately on our first Zoom call and decided on Minnewaska State Park for their elopement. Two days before the wedding, the forecast called for rain almost all day at the park. We frantically brainstormed some alternative locations with cover from the rain, as it looked like Minnewaska wasn’t going to work. Then, like a gift from the earth itself, the rain started disappearing from the forecast, and Janae made the executive decision to go ahead with Minnewaska. It turned out to be an absolutely perfect day, and the rain held off until we started walking back to our cars to leave.

This elopement will definitely go down as a highlight of my year and my career as a photographer. For Janae and Lio to put their faith in me to help with location planning, photography, and officiating meant the world to me! I’m so thankful to have played a role in such an incredible day.

Oh yeah, we also saw two snakes.

At Home Elopement - Aude and Jeff - New Jersey Wedding Photographer

Aude and Jeff hold the distinct honor of having the smallest wedding I’ve ever photographed. With just the two of them, Jeff’s brother Joel, their minister, and myself, only five people physically attended their wedding, and it was perfect. They invited their closest friends and relatives from around the world to a Zoom meeting to witness their ceremony live, and a couple of them even performed readings for them. Weddings like this one remind us that you don’t have to invite 300 people (but you certainly can!) for your day to be memorable and special. I’m so glad to have been a part of Aude and Jeff’s wedding, and I’m happy to share these photos with all of you!

New York/New Jersey Elopement Wedding - Susana and Matt

When I first heard Susana and Matt’s plans for their elopement - a small gathering at a cozy restaurant with their closest friends and family - I was all about it. Then I learned that they were quite an adventurous couple, and I figured we had to do something more. We ended up going to Minnewaska State Park Reserve in New York before their event started to take some portraits. I’m so glad they were on board, because it was such a beautiful place to capture them in! These two are so much fun, and their adventurous spirits are matched only by the love they share for each other.

Allison and Ed

Allison and Ed ended my 2020 season the best way I know how. With a nice, low-key, intimate ceremony and celebration with their closest friends and family. Their wedding was a great example of how you don’t need a hundred people to have a great time. Everyone was all smiles all day, even if you couldn’t see them under the masks. I can’t wait to work with them again next year!

Nicole and Mike

By the time Nicole and Mike’s wedding came around, I was very used to the more intimate weddings sprung about by COVID. Their wedding, however, was a beautiful reflection of who they are. Loving, kind, and humble. I had a great time with them and their loved ones, and some of my favorite photos of the year came from their wedding. And as an added bonus, my own wedding photographers were in attendance!

Taylor and Josh - The Farm at Glenwood Mountain Wedding - NJ Wedding Photographer

I know if I’ve ever worked with a more calm, cool, and collected couple as Taylor and Josh. Their wedding day went by without a hitch thanks to their attitudes and the amazing people they surround themselves with. Sometimes I get to work with tremendous people. Sometimes I get to work at stunning venues. For Taylor and Josh’s wedding, I got to do both.
